Naturalization Ceremony
Fresh starts, high hopes for the future.

Since the birth of this nation, the United States of
America has attracted millions of immigrants from around the world. It can truly be said that, “we are a nation of immigrants.” For many reasons individuals like yourselves have made the decision to leave your homelands and start a new life in this land of opportunity and freedom. You have made tremendous sacrifices in the hopes of a better life for yourselves, your family and your children. As our newest Americans, you represent the languages, cultures and traditions that make this country great.
You wear many hats- you are factory workers,
business owners, engineers, scientists, technicians, field workers, and members of our armed services. You pay taxes that help finance our schools, health and social services, and national defense. You are a community in excess of 25 million naturalized citizens and you represent the future and well-being of our country.
Today we acknowledge your efforts and honor your decision to become U.S. Citizens. Today you complete the lengthy and difficult naturalization process. We celebrate your achievement and welcome you as our fellow citizens. We urge you to exercise your newly
acquired rights and become active in the civic affairsof your community, state and country.
On behalf of the Portland Guadalajara Sister City
Association and the U.S. Office of Citizenship and Immigration Services, we congratulate you and wish you future success, good health, happiness, and prosperity
